Everything you want to know before you sign up.

When does Dishline actually launch?

+

We're building the worker pool now. Once we have enough verified servers and bartenders in Vancouver, we'll start onboarding restaurants, caterers, and event teams — and shifts will start showing up in the app. Founding members get the first wave of shifts before we open to the public.

Does it cost anything to join?

+

No. Joining the waitlist and using Dishline to find shifts is free for workers. Restaurants pay the platform fee — not you.

How fast do I get paid?

+

Direct deposit, within a week of each shift you complete and clock out of. No chasing tips, invoices, or two-week pay cycles.

Do I need hospitality experience?

+

Yes. Dishline is for working servers and bartenders. You don't need years on a fine-dining floor, but you should be comfortable taking orders, running a section, or making the standard drinks. If you're just starting out, get a few shifts under your belt elsewhere and come back — we'll be here.

Do I need FOODSAFE or Serving It Right?

+

Servers in BC need FOODSAFE Level 1. Bartenders need Serving It Right. If you don't have them yet, that's okay — we'll point you at the cheapest, fastest way to get certified before your first shift.

Are these full-time jobs or one-off shifts?

+

One-off shifts to start. You pick what you accept and when. If a restaurant loves you and wants to hire you full-time, that's between you and them — we don't lock you into anything.

What if I cancel a shift?

+

Life happens. You can cancel up to 12 hours before the shift starts with no penalty. Last-minute cancellations affect your reliability rating, which affects how often you see top shifts. Show up, build the rating, get the best pick.

Why Vancouver first?

+

Marketplaces only work when there's enough supply and demand in one place. We're piloting in Vancouver to get the model right, then expanding to more Canadian cities. Founding Vancouver members lock in priority access — and we'll tap you on the shoulder when we open your next city.

How do you decide who gets shifts first?

+

Two things: how early you joined the waitlist, and your reliability rating once you start working. Early signups jump the queue. From there, the more reliable you are, the more (and better) shifts you'll see.

I'm a restaurant owner — how do I sign up?

+

We're not opening to restaurants until we have a strong worker pool — but you can lock in early access pricing now. Head to For Restaurants and drop your details.
